Torrentz Hydra Splatling
A heavyweight Splatling with a very long charge. In return, a full charge gives you range second only to Chargers and a massive stream of shots for several seconds. It's bad at painting and is built purely for splats and area control, so it's aimed at experienced players. Depending on the kit you get Autobomb + Booyah Bomb, Sprinkler + Big Bubbler, or Ink Mine + Splattercolor Screen.

Strengths
- At full charge its damage, range and shot count are all high, so it can splat several visible enemies in one go
- Incredibly strong at holding a lead, keeping enemies pinned back and stopping them from coming forward
- Quickly breaks placed objects and specials like the Rainmaker's shield, Splash Walls and Crab Tanks
- Even a partial charge can get splats if a few shots land, so it's not totally helpless when someone gets close
Watch out for
- The charge time is very long and you walk slowly while charging, which leaves you wide open
- Chargers like the Splat Charger and E-liter 4K beat it on range or kill speed, so it can't win head-on
- Getting your charge interrupted by Splat Bombs or Autobombs costs a lot of time to recover
- Poor painting and ink efficiency, so it struggles in paint battles and when breaking a hold
- Its max-damage range is shorter than its paint range, so shots-to-kill tends to go up at max range
Tips
- Finish your charge behind cover or a wall before peeking out, and only go for enemies you can actually finish
- When a Charger is watching you, don't trade with it. Break its line of fire and target someone else
- If you don't need to empty the whole charge, turn into a squid to stop firing and save ink
- Practice on the test range landing a few shots with a small charge so you're ready when someone gets close
