Custom Jet Squelcher
The longest-range shooter, a backline-leaning weapon that supports teammates with zoning and paint from afar. It's a four-shot kill with a slowish fire rate, so splats are hard to get, and it's weak when enemies close in, so managing distance and positioning is key. Its support style changes by kit: Angle Shooter + Ink Vac, Burst Bomb + Triple Splashdown, or Toxic Mist + Ink Storm. That said, on GameWith's tier list only the COB-R makes it in, at the bottom tier, so it's not highly rated in the current meta.

Strengths
- Best range of any shooter, so it can force its range on short- and mid-range weapons and chip them one-sidedly
- Unlike Chargers and Splatlings, it has no charge time and is nimble, so among long-range weapons it can at least fight back when someone surprises it up close
- It can keep painting nonstop from far away, great for holding the zone or messing up the enemy's turf
- Arcing shots can reach enemies on high ground or behind cover
Watch out for
- A four-shot kill and slow fire rate mean a long TTK, so enemies often escape before you finish them
- Weak at painting its own feet, so it's hard to escape once enemies close to mid range and paint around you
- It struggles when fast-killing close-range weapons like the Splattershot, .52 Gal, or Carbon Roller close in
- It can't beat dedicated snipers like the Splat Charger or E-liter 4K on range or damage
- The base version's Angle Shooter and Ink Vac are quirky and not reliable for self-defense when enemies get close
Tips
- Shooting alone from max range lets enemies escape easily, so step in a few paces and land your shots reliably
- Firing low and straight paints cleaner and is less noticeable than lobbing. Save arcing shots for chasing enemies who duck behind cover
- Stay a little behind your frontline teammates and chip the enemies they're fighting from the side to rack up assists
- A direct Angle Shooter hit lets you finish with 2 main shots, so it's also good for chasing enemies escaping your range

A kit suited to holding and defense: Toxic Mist slows enemies so your main lands more easily, and Ink Storm flushes out hiding enemies.Recent changes
- 11.0.0: System change for all weapons: main weapons get bigger hitboxes against players (the shorter the range, the bigger the boost), squid form gets a smaller hurtbox, and the game adds "Flow Aura" (a temporary power-up when you keep performing well) plus a remaining-health display (source 11)
- 11.3.0: Special change, Ink Vac: amount of enemy ink absorbed reduced by about 9% (Jet Squelcher) (source 12)
- 11.3.0: Special change, Triple Splashdown: invincibility kicks in about 10/60 sec. earlier, explosion radius reduced by about 9%, fist travel distance increased by about 9% (Jet Squelcher COB-R) (source 12)
- 11.0.0 reaction: The JP wiki points out that the new health gauge makes Thermal Ink's effect stand out a lot more, so running Thermal Ink to make up for slow splats looks more worthwhile now (source 1)
